OMG! Where did the Month Go?

So, today is April 1st! Really? So, what happened to March? In my mind I really thought I was writing at least a weekly blog.... but if you note, the last blog was March 2nd... so what really happened? Where did the time go? What happened to the month of March? I mean.... what was I doing? Well, I guess I was doing life and the reality in my head wasn't a reality at all. I can't believe one entire month has passed me by.

Isn't that just like single parenting? Time just lies by. And you end up with missed months, activities, deadlines, programs. "I thought your program was next week" "No mom - it's TODAY!" Time. Give me mine back please!!! With clothes piling up, dishes in the sink, papers everywhere...no time.... but somehow you make it.

Today, give yourself a little bit of slack. Don't be so hard on yourself. The truth is there is a LOT to do as a single parent. Manage what you can... and use your time the best you can. Don't explain yourself.... do your best, and ask others to give you a hand if necesssary. Will you miss another month like I did? Probably... but it doesn't mean you wasted time. I may not have written my weekly blog, but I did enjoy time with my kids during spring break. I completed some projects I had been working on for a while. I did numerous interviews. Attended meetings and I even had lunch with a friend.

The main thing is USE YOUR TIME WISELY. And if you don't get everything done at that moment - just find another moment to get it done! Give yourself permission for missing the soccer game, or oversleeping on Saturday morning. It's really okay. Just like now, it may be a month later, but I got to this blog and got it done! The lesson I learned was, that now I need to actually put on my planner a weekly time to get my blog written. What do you need to get out of your head and put on your planner? Take the time now to get it scheduled, otherwise...that month may just fly by! I will give some time management tips next time. Gotta run!!!
